Score 93/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 2016

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard comes from the higher slopes of Spring Mountain and is always a small cuvée of about 291 cases. This wine always reveals floral notes intermixed with blueberries and black raspberries as well as hints of licorice and incense. The 2014 is delicious, full of fruit extract, full-bodied, up-front and sexy.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard is one of the most accessible, but also simple, of the Beringer single vineyard Cabernets. Today, the Marston comes across as a bit compact and lacking the depth of the best wines in this range. It will be interesting to see what time in bottle brings. I would have liked to see a bit more complexity here.
