Bright golden-yellow in color the 2013 Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Spätlese is a medium-bodied, piquant, enormously salty and racy Riesling with a lovely fruit expression of pineapples and maracuja. It is very pure and really kicking, absolutely stimulating and, at the end of the day, a beautiful liquid drug called Goldloch Spätlese. The salinity here is so persistent that you can't stop drinking.

The long and slow ripening process of 2013 has rewarded the Diel family with an extraordinary Spätlese, which manages to get both generous exotic fruit and invigorating acidity under one hat. Before the taste of juicy passion fruit is allowed to restrict this wine to one dimension, a mere splash of minerality adds a notion of complexity. (MS)
