The 2018 Vouvray Demi-Sec is a cloud of Chenin Blanc that fills the mouth like a floaty ghost of unadulterated fruit. It is almost weightless, yet mesmerizing in its allure as if it is a hypnotist. Fine, transparent with flavors reminiscent of fresh pear and ripe apple. To reduce this wine to fruit characters detracts from a wine that isn't best served by an analysis of its componentry; it is a harmonious whole. I only wish I could taste demi-secs like this every day.
