Score 89/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots from Gérard Julien has a very reduced nose, one that was difficult to dislodge despite rigorous swirling of the glass. The palate is actually promising: quite dense and weighty in the mouth, clearly a wine that underwent a good extraction, plenty of spicy black fruit and a solid, slightly muscular finish. It is no subtle wine and is a bit abrasive in the context of the vintage, but if the reduction goes it could turn into a decent wine. Tasted September 2017.
