Fragrant and open, fresh lemon and a touch of white blossom. Intense, high acid, just in harmony thanks to a creamy mouthfeel. A bit severe on its own but should show well at the table. Intense and long but a little challenging for now at least. (JH)

The 2018 Auxey-Duresses Les Boutonniers has turned out nicely, exhibiting aromas of Anjou pear, citrus oil, toasted almonds and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely concentrated, it's fleshy but structured, with lively acids and a nicely integrated profile. This prime lieu-dit on the Meursault border has once again turned out a fine performance.
