Tasting notes
Good medium red. Red cherry, plum, woodsmoke and musky earth tones on the slightly reduced nose. Suppler and a bit darker in fruit character on the palate than the nose suggests, with plum, black cherry, menthol and black tea flavors accented by an herbal greenness. Finishes with a touch of alcoholic warmth and modest length.

10-13 months in French oak, 20% new. Some of these Bouchard reds seem to have plenty of fruit but in a rather earthbound style, without expressive fragrance, unlike many others in this vintage. Spiced, dark-red fruit. Savoury, dry and finishes elegantly yet still with a firm grip. All a bit tied up at the moment. (JH)
