Tasting notes
A perfumy, medium-bodied, elegant wine, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Pere De Famille is inviting in attractive red fruit and a generously long palate of refined tannin. There's a dusty, chalky quality to the oak, which holds tight on the finish. Drink 2030-2042.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille is blended with 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, matured for 17 months in 30% new French oak. It has detailed scents of maraschino cherries, milk chocolate, charcuterie, tobacco and lavender. Full-bodied with pixelated tannins, the palate offers fantastic concentration without weight, its flavors balanced by bursts of fresh acidity, and it has a long, layered finish. 832 cases produced.
Darkly floral, the 2022 Père de Famille opens slowly in the glass with a bouquet of mentholated herbs, pencil lead and crushed rocks that gives way to notes of currants and black raspberries. Silken and round, this envelops the palate with its textural depths and masses of tart red berry fruits. A stream of cooling acidity adds lift as hints of blood orange embellish the close. The 2022 is classically structured and long. A web of fine-grained tannins resonates as suggestions of cocoa and lavender pastille fade.
