The 2019 Barolo San Giuseppe is a hard wine to taste. Searing tannins dominate, while the mid-palate feels devoid of fruit and depth. Moreover, forward aromatics and an overall lack of freshness suggest the 2019 does not have the balance to develop well in bottle

This is a blend of fruit from Le Coste di Monforte, Bussia and Ravera in Monforte that results in 8,000 bottles hitting the market soon. The 2019 Barolo San Giuseppe is very bright and expressive on first nose with candied orange, wild cherry, iris root and powdered licorice. The wine offers a lovely experience and stays true to a classic Nebbiolo playlist. The tannins are dry with some powdery sensations too.
