Tasting notes
Tasted blind. Riper citrus fruit than on many of these dry Sauternes. A touch of botrytis-like orange character. Crisp acidity and a bit lean. Then some heat on the finish. (JH)

The 2020 Sigalas-Rabaud La Sémillante has slightly too much oak on the nose. It’s a bit generic, but there is nothing offensive here. The palate is medium-bodied with a honeyed opening and fine acidity, a richer take on the category, though it misses complexity and nuance. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
The 2020 La Sémillante de Sigalas, the dry cuvée from Sigalas Rabaud, lacks presence and complexity on the nose. The palate has a slightly sour entry, moderate depth and a simple, rather innocuous finish.
