I found the 2012 Estate Riserva to be mid-weight and slightly charmless, with weedy notes of light red fruits, mint and underbrush. Made from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Sangiovese, aged 28 months in 20% new French oak, I'd drink it sooner rather than later.

Deep ruby. A wild, pungent bouquet evokes ripe cherry and dark berries, and a hint of gaminess emerges as the wine opens up. Chewy and subtly sweet, offering cherry and cassis flavors and a hint of smoked meat. On the funky side, for sure, but there's good depth of fruit as well. Finishes with repeating smokiness and good length, leaving a suggestion of bitter cherry behind.
