Tasting notes
Matured in 100% new oak (mostly French, but with 10% American and 2% Hungarian in the mix), the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel EXP is toasty and cedary up front but with sufficient underlying fruit to make it an enjoyable drinking experience. Cherries join with vanilla and gentle earth notes, while the medium to full-bodied palate is streamlined, reined in and given shape by the oak. My personal approach would be to enjoy this wine young, but I could see an argument being made for aging it, in the hopes that the oak integrates more over time.

Aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dried herbs and oolong. Full-bodied with juicy tannins. Charred rosemary and oak on the palate. Black-fruited with nice depth and intensity. Better in a few years. Best after 2025.
