A step up over the 2014, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Reserve offers Pauillac-like notes of lead pencil and graphite, with fabulous blackcurrants, smoked earth, licorice and spice nuances in the background. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and beautifully pure, with a straight, fresh, yet serious feel, it's going to age beautifully for two decades. This wine is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, aged 20 months in 50% new French oak.
Deep garnet-purple colored with a nose of baked plums, crème de cassis, earth and herbs with a waft of asphalt, the medium to full-bodied 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Reserve shows baked fruit and chewy, rather rustic tannins, finishing a little abruptly.
