The H-L the Uhlen “Rothlay” is the official star in the H-L range, but won’t be released until 2017, but this is already a mind-blowing wine. The great depth of super-ripe yellow fruit aromas and stunning textural richness that make this is an arresting wine. In spite of the scale and depth, this has great finesse at the very long finish.

The green vegetal notes of the Laubach seem a little riper than those of the Blaufüsser Lay and come across as really fresh and aromatic. A very generous texture vindicates the assumption of great ripeness, but prominent yet rounded acidity provides the perfect pitch. Nuances of lemon sherbet stimulate the salivary glands; a sensory exploration of the herb garden completes another delightful Riesling Grosses Gewächs. (MS)
