Score 94/100 · Drink 2022-2032, Jeb Dunnuck, Sep 2022
One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2019 Toro De Paso showed beautifully, with a ripe, balanced, complex style in its chocolate dark fruits, spice, tobacco, and sandalwood-like aromas and flavors. Beautiful on the palate as well, it has ripe tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Mostly Tempranillo (there’s 17% Grenache) that spent 22 months in 30% new French oak, it should continue drinking well over the coming decade. This is another solid lineup from Edgar Torres, who puts together a bevy of eclectic blends that always bring plenty of fruit and texture, as well as complexity.
