Tasting notes
Deep, vivid garnet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, potpourri and Asian spices. A vibrant mineral nuance builds in the glass. Lively, mineral-accented raspberry, cherry cola, vanilla and floral pastille flavors display excellent precision and spicy back-end thrust. Unfolds slowly with aeration, finishing with sharp definition, fine-grained tannins and superb, red-fruit-driven persistence. All de-stemmed fruit and 50% new French oak.

Matured for 19 months in 30% new French oak, the medium ruby-purple colored 2018 Pinot Noir Center of Effort features cranberry sauce and crushed blackberry aromas on the nose, with nuances of Earl Grey tea leaves, forest floor and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate has a core of crunchy fruit complemented by juicy acidity and a satisfying, spicy finish.
The 2018 Pinot Noir, which comes all from the cooler Edna Valley, offers a peppery, spicy, light, red-fruited style as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It shines for its elegance more than power and richness and is beautifully done.
