The 2013 Sancerre Les Chailloux is a fascinating mineral Sancerre from the rare flint soils of the village which are based on the outskirts of the Forest of Charnes named Les Chailloux. This elegant, austerely mineral, taut and complex wine is almost electrifying on the salty, mouth-watering palate and its vibrancy and finesse are really remarkable. This outstanding, barrel-fermented Sancerre is a true ambassador of its unique terroir but also has several features in common with finest dry Rieslings from Germany’s Nahe region. Very well done, Stéphane!
