Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,223 g. Transparent garnet. Very pale rim. Light but convincing nose of Pinot. Some sweet fruit and freshness. This may not be burgundy but it is recognisably Pinot and VGV . One of Corney's real finds, but not for ageing. (JR)

The meaty, nutty, exotic 2020 Pinot Noir Piccolo Rosso has plenty of darker cherry fruits, some black tea and forest floor nuances, medium body, a ripe, supple mouthfeel, and outstanding length. It's another Burgundian, elegant, aromatic, and complex wine from this team. These are by and large outstanding wines from Edna Valley’s Center of Effort. The wines are made by Nathan Carlson, and they always play in the lighter, fresher end of the spectrum.
Made from some of the younger vines on the property and, compared with the other estate Pinot Noirs, gets a shorter 11-month é levage in 28% new French oak before bottling. Smells of cherry and a hint of mocha. Flavours of cherry mocha and a touch of brown sugar are bright with juicy acidity and shot through with a little herbal bitterness. Fruit-driven but not too lush. (AY)
