Score 89/100 · Drink 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2019
A special cuvée that Carillon largely reserves for French restaurants, the 2017 Bourgogne Blanc Le Vieux Clos wafts from the glass with an appealing bouquet of yellow orchard fruit, citrus oil and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and deep at the core, its textural attack underpinned by more tension and cut than is found in the regular Bourgogne Blanc. Given its distribution, it may be hard to find, but readers shouldn't hesitate to jump at the chance to try it, as it punches well above its weight for the appellation.
