Score 90/100 · Drink 2008-2015, Pierre Rovani, Apr 2005

A backward behemoth, the roasted blackberry and black cherry liqueur-scented 2003 Pommard Noizons (red) boasts a red cherry syrup-dominated flavor profile. Notes of Welch’s grape jelly, licorice, and candied plums can be detected in this medium to full-bodied effort’s dense core of fruit. Powerful, hugely tannic, and immensely long, this is an amazingly impressive wine. If its fruit outlasts its tannin my score will appear pathetically low. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.
