Score 91/100 · Drink 2017-2021, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The Tempranillo blend 2014 QS2 is very aromatic and floral. It has grapes from eight different kinds of soils with some 20% of Bordeaux grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, a little Malbec and even some Syrah, often fermented together by soil. The nose is a more serious version of the Sardón, with a little more depth and nuance, with some subtlety. Each year they are harvesting a little earlier (until they reached the limit in 2016). Here they always tell me Petit Verdot is an important part of the aromatics of the final blend. The oak is very nicely integrated and the palate has sleek tannins, with some chalky sensations and balanced acidity. Some 20,000 bottles produced, significantly less than in the past now that they have a new entry level.
