Tasting notes
With organic fruit from Castelnuovo Berardenga, the 2019 Chianti Classico shows the basic elements of Sangiovese with bright cherry fruit, crushed flower, earth and iron ore. The wine is lean on the palate with pasta-friendly freshness on the close.

Castelnuovo Berardenga. 100% Sangiovese. Certified organic. Lustrous mid crimson. Concentrated, focused cherry fruit nose with inky and peppery hints as well as hints of iron. Full tangy cherry fruit on the palate. Long, juicy and elegant, with soft gritty tannins. (WS)
The 2019 Chianti Classico from Castello di Bossi is a light-bodied, aromatic wine to drink now and over the next few years. There is good aromatic complexity, but not enough depth or freshness to make me think the 2019 will be a longer term prospect. Crushed flowers, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar and earthy notes linger nicely.
Aromas of blueberries, plums, roasted meat and dried herbs. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins. Chewy and structured on the palate with chocolate notes on the flavorful finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
