Tasting notes
The 2012 Pinot Noir Emmaline Ann Vineyard has a lovely purity and translucence to it, although elements of reduction are presently masking the fruit. Cranberry, blood orange, spice, chalk and white pepper add nuance on the tightly wound finish.

A soft, supple Pinot Noir, the 2012 Emmaline Ann Vineyard is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. The flavors are racy and textured throughout, with lovely depth and mid-palate pliancy. The whole clusters add nuance, but the Emmaline Ann remains forward and juicy, in the classic, mid-weight style in which Ross Cobb excels. Interestingly, the Emmaline Ann was picked the same day as the Jack Hill. The wines are, of course, totally different.
