Tasting notes
Some evolution. Rich and racy. With some filigree transparency. At a very good moment in its evolution now. Bone dry. Still a lot of structure on the end. (JR)

From red slate, the flinty-flavored 2016 Pündericher Marienburg Riesling GG "Rothenpfad" is pure, fresh, precise and intense on the nose, indicating perfectly ripe yet remarkably fine fruit and great mineral complexity. Full-bodied, lush and intense on the palate, with very fine tannins, mineral flavors and almost round, silky-textured fruit, this is a powerful but impressively finessed Rothenpfad with remarkable purity and mineral tension. The acidity is absolutely fine, and the long finish reveals remarkable balance. Still young but very promising. Bottled at the end of September; tasted February 2018.
