2015 Pewsey Vale Vineyard Riesling The Contours Museum Reserve

The 2015 The Contours Riesling is being released this year in 2025, and frankly met with great anticipation. 2015 was an excellent vintage, and these wines age with interminable grace, the combination of which is likely to be thrilling. So, aromatically, the wine leads with green apple and dried mint, white pepper, cheesecloth and brine. In the mouth, the wine is toasty and yet tightly coiled, showing a wide splay of texture and flavor that forges persistently across the tongue. This is a very impressive wine, so tight as to still be somewhat closed, indicating a long life ahead of it yet. The vineyard is planted on contoured rows at an elevation of 440-490 meters above sea level in the Eden Valley, and the vines were planted in 1965, making this vintage (50 years from first plantings) and its decade release (60 years after first plantings) an attractive lineup of numbers. It is dry. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
