Spicy to the core, the 2023 Casual Encounters mixes dusty dried flowers, ashen stone and dried blueberries in its inviting bouquet. It sweeps across the palate with ripe wild berry fruits and juicy textures complicated by a tinge of gingery spice toward the close. Pleasantly chewy and long, it finishes with dramatic length, is lightly tannic and leaves a tart raspberry, mocha concentration that puckers the cheeks. This is a co-fermented blend of 40% Mourvèdre, 40% Syrah and 20% Grenache.
