Tasting notes
The 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard is rich, creamy and voluptuous, all qualities that make it incredibly appealing, even at this early stage. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice and leather meld together in an effortless, juicy Pinot that will offer highly rewarding drinking upon release. This is a terrific example of Solomon Hills Pinot.

The 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard has a pale ruby-purple color and opens with gentle dried Provence herbs and underbrush notes with a core of pomegranate and wild strawberries and a waft of cumin seed. Light to medium-bodied and very delicate, verging on lean, it delivers softly spoken red berry and herbal layers and a chewy frame, finishing on an earthy note.
From one of my favorite vineyards in Santa Barbara, the 2015 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard is a good expression of this site. Strawberries, ripe raspberries, spice and hints of underbrush all flow from this rounded, nicely textured red that leads with its fruit.
