The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is all varietal aged 26 months in a mix of 80% new French and American oak. It has a sweet, upfront nose of cassis, red plums, baking spices, and chocolate, with a slightly lifted, perfumed edge. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, complex, reasonably well-balanced Cabernet with integrated tannins and a good finish. I don't think it will make old bones, but it's certainly a charmer.

Peju's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve spent 26 months in mostly new French and American oak, and the wine reflects that, with rounded, supple tannins and almost sweet-smelling notes of cinnamon streusel and caramel added to the ripe black cherry fruit. I wouldn't suggest holding it for decades in the cellar, but this medium to full-bodied wine is a lush, approachable Cabernet for drinking over the next several years.

Notes of blackcurrants, spicy herbs, walnut and moist earth. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins and deep purple fruit character. Velvety and lingering. Drink or hold.

Marked by scents of cigar box, cherries and cassis, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon H.B. Reserve 40th Anniversary Edition spent 27 months in barrel (85% new French oak). The result is a medium to full-bodied wine, firm and tannic yet ripe and mouthwatering at the same time, with a solid structure and—presumably—the ability to age for a couple of decades. For the price, at least it represents a solid step up in quality from the winery's regular bottlings.
