Tasting notes
Medium garnet, the 2015 Syrah The Hedge has a deep core of red and black currants and savory accents of charcuterie, mushroom powder, fried savory herbs and graphite. The full-bodied palate offers powerful, grainy tannins, plenty of refreshing acidity and a long, layered finish. This still has plenty of life ahead!

Made from 100% Syrah brought up in 50% new French oak, the 2015 Syrah The Hedge is a big, full-bodied effort that has some serious power in its black and blue fruits, spice, game, and pepper, and it has plenty of background oak. Concentrated and layered, with notable purity, hide bottles for 2-3 years. Brilliant wines emerge from Jennifer and Terry Hoage’s TH Estate, which focuses on their 26-acre estate vineyard located in the cooler Willow Creek District. These are rich, lush, sexy wines that always deliver pleasure, as well as elegance and incredible amounts of charm. In addition, Jennifer has created a new label called DECROUX which focuses on cool-climate Pinot Noir. Those wines are also covered in this report.
Lurid purple. Smoke-accented boysenberry and cassis aromas show excellent clarity and are complemented by building spice, floral and succulent herb qualities. Seamless and broad on the palate, offering appealingly sweet dark berry liqueur, licorice and candied violet flavors braced by a core of juicy acidity. Closes long and spicy, with supple, building tannins and lingering floral and blue fruit flourishes.
