Score 92/100 · Drink 2018-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2016

Rousseau's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Roi Soleil offers lovely depth and complexity in a deceptively linear, mid-weight style. Beams of tannin and acidity will give the wine much of its personality, but overall this is a relatively friendly young Cabernet Sauvignon (for Mt. Veeder) that should drink well with minimal cellaring. Hints of game, smoke and tobacco add further shades of complexity as the wine continues to open up in the glass.
