2013 Rust en Vrede - Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, matured in French oak, has a straightforward, minty nose with simple blackberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy in the mouth with seamless tannin. The acidity here is nicely judged, gently gripping the mouth with quite lush red berry fruit laced with Earl Grey and bay leaf on the finish. It might lack varietal character but it is well balanced.
