2010 Relic Chardonnay The Sage

(from an old Wente clone, planted in silty loam soil in the mid-'60s not far from the Martinelli Winery): Aromas of orange blossom, flint and clove. Rich, dry and spicy, with an exotic lift reminiscent of muscat. Strong mineral and stone notes on the very dry finish. A low-pH chardonnay from a late-ripening site.
