2021 Isolation Ridge Riesling

The 2021 Isolation Ridge Riesling is powerful and almost broad in its styling, with lemongrass and beeswax, straw tatami mat and wet leaves. The residual sugar (about five grams this year) lends a weight to the palate and emphasizes the depth and length of the wine. The wine has gentle aromas of cheesecloth and very faint notions of dried fried shallots, white pepper, scratched citrus and preserved lemon in brine. The vintage variation here is clear: the wine is transparent and expressive of its year, testament to the eloquence of the vineyard.
