2014 Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

(14.9% alcohol): Deep ruby-red. Subdued but pure aromas of blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, minerals and sexy oak. At once dense and juicy, conveying lovely herbal relief to the dark berry, mocha and tobacco leaf flavors. Suave, silky but firm Cabernet with ripe, integrated acidity and alluring inner-mouth perfume. Still a bit youthfully medicinal but finishes with firm but even palate-saturating tannins and subtle persistence. I remember when this bottling was way too oaky, but this vintage is far more sophisticated.
