Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2043, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Sep 2021

A small cuvée that's fermented in barrel, the 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers up aromas of sweet berries, licorice, warm spices and creamy new oak. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it's velvety and enveloping, with ripe, powdery tannins and succulent acids.

0.21-ha parcel. Destemmed. Tank sample. Rich and lively with real pace. What I seek from a modern grand cru. Well done! (JR)
