2022 Pouilly Fume Barre a Mine

The 2022 Barre à Mine comes from a rocky vineyard blown up to create a new terroir, which produces a wine that contrasts its other Pouilly Fumés. While the 2022 vintage has generally offered up styles with ripe white-stone fruit, this cuvée retains a powerful herbal and green profile and has come out as just 12% alcohol. Aromatically, it's a wine that isn't shy and retiring with asparagus and green pea meeting mint. While light-bodied, it is firm and punchy with a grippy edge to the finish. This wine is as distinctive as its terroir. A little more length would elevate.
