Tasting notes
The 2022 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast has inviting aromas of peach, citrus blossoms, toast, brown sugar and matchstick. The full-bodied palate is luxuriously silky and offers tremendously concentrated flavors. Its vibrant acidity is seamlessly integrated, and it has a very long, dynamic finish.

The 2022 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is a bright yellow hue and offers notes of delicate oak spice, fresh pear, bright citrus zest, fresh flowers, and salty earth. Zesty and refreshing, with a salty, mouthwatering lift, it has the ability to age over the coming 10 years or more. Founded by winemaker Matt Courtney and his longtime friend David Wherritt, Ferren focuses on single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the far Sonoma Coast. They had initially set out to be a Pinot Noir house, but they now produce an equal amount of Chardonnay, and the wines don’t disappoint. The whites are textural, balanced, and highly expressive across the board.
The 2022 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is a total knockout. What a wine. Aromatic, precise and beautifully chiseled, the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay presages what's to come in the vineyard-designates in this range. Citrus confit, marzipan, white flowers, chalk, mint and tangerine peel are all gorgeously woven together. This is pure class through and through. The Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a selection of barrels from the vineyard designates that don't quite make it into those wines. It's a high class wine all the way.
