Matured in around 40% new oak, the 2016 Pinot Noir Evelyn's has savory aromas of bramble fruit, mushrooms, olive and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate is supple and juicy with a balance of fruit and tertiary character and a long, dynamic finish. It hasn’t quite reached its peak.

Limpid ruby-red. A highly perfumed, complex bouquet displays intense red and blue fruit, potpourri, exotic spice, savory herb and mineral qualities. Stains the palate with alluringly sweet black raspberry, boysenberry, spicecake and candied rose flavors that turn livelier as the wine stretches out. Delivers a compelling blend of power and delicacy and betrays no rough edges. A wonderfully long, floral- and spice-driven finish is supported by fine-grained tannins that fade smoothly into the wine's vibrant, mineral-tinged fruit. Given the going rate of top-drawer Pinot Noir from Oregon, much less other regions, this wine delivers simply astounding value.
