Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is just starting to enter its first plateau of maturity. Crushed flowers, spice, dried autumn leaves, mint, espresso and blood orange all grace this exquisite Cabernet. All the elements are so well balanced. The 2015 has aged so well, even better than I had originally anticipated. The combination of a cool site and a warm vintage is so appealing.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is dense, plush and explosive. In 2015, Di Costanzo's Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard has quite a bit more body and textural richness than it usually has, with fewer of the more mineral and savory notes found in vintages like 2013 and 2014. I would give the 2015 a few years to shed some baby fat. Succulent dark cherry, plum, menthol and chocolate notes add to the wine's brooding, virile feel.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. Rich, sumptuous and explosive, the 2015 possesses terrific density from start to finish. Even with all of its intensity, the 2015 still captures plenty of the Farella signatures, namely graphite, gravel and savory-infused overtones galore. In 2015 the fruit is front and center, as it is at so many other properties. Because of the tiny yields, all of the Cabernet Sauvignon lots were cofermented.
