Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Corton Grand Cru Blanc comes from the lieu-dit of En Regnet et Corton, underwent malolactic in wood and matured in 100% new oak sans bâtonnage. It has an almost Meursault-like bouquet with subtle hazelnut, smoke and lychee aromas bubbling up from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a rounded, generous opening. This handles the 100% new oak in its stride and allows the terroir to be translated on the tensile finish that just lacks a little persistence. Otherwise this is very fine, albeit a grand cru that might be best enjoyed in its flush of youth.
