2024 Pouilly Fuisse les Trois C.

One of the richer, broader wines in the range this year is the 2024 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Trois C., a medium- to full-bodied, satiny and ample wine redolent of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and frangipane. It's a blend of La Côte, Carmentrans and Les Crays.

Julien Desplans, winemaker for Guffens-Heynen, describes this as a ‘tour of the rock of Vergisson'. It is an assemblage of grapes from three lieux-dits: La Côte, En Carmentrant and Les Crays. The result is sublime, with pronounced aromas of Mirabelle plum, ripe pear, acacia flower, an edge of smoky reduction and a hint of spice. The texture is lush and dense, but not heavy, with enough acidity to balance everything. Ideally, open this wine in 10 years and drink it over the next 20 that follow.
