Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2000-2006, Pierre Rovani, Apr 1997

Made primarily from the De La Barre vineyard, the Meursault exhibits a lovely, fresh nutty nose and a light-to-medium-bodied, highly structured, tight mouth. Needing at least 3 years to come around, this wine can be enjoyed over the subsequent 6. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. Ratings with a range of scores in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle. Importers: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 524-1524, and Martine's Wines, San Raphael, CA; tel (415) 485-1800.
