Tasting notes
The 2016 Romanée Saint Vivant Grand Cru is very flattering on the nose with copious Morello cherry, wild strawberry and dark plum aromas, pressed iris flower and a subtle oyster shell note developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, impressive weight and girth. Demonstrates wonderful complexity and harmony towards the finish. This is reassuringly profound and it should give 40 to 50 years of drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

Bright, vibrant deep crimson. Very intense and layered on the nose. The palate is more transparent with Vosne raciness well in evidence. Not cheap though! Very nicely done. I’d love to see this blind with other RSV wines. (One can but dream…) Real length and intensity. (JR)
