Medium red. Some green notes and a suggestion of old oak dominate the nose. Initially showed a touch of sweetness and decent texture along with a repeating herbal element but lost some of its fruit with air. Between its slightly spiky acidity and soft tannins, this wine should be drunk up. (13.3% alcohol; October 6 harvest; 23 h/h; 3.42 pH)

Late season. Some rot. Warm, humid nights. Harvest 6 October, yield 23 hl/ha, pH 3.42. The pound was very strong. 13.3% Pale orangey ruby. Pretty, light, sweet. It has held up well. But it’s light and not complex. You’d be sad to have paid top dollar for it on a wine list. Just slightly sickly too. Fast fade. (JR)
