Tasting notes
Almost entirely Zinfandel this vintage, the 2019 Andosol boasts slightly grassy, herbal notes on the nose, something akin to alfalfa. It's also savory and peppery. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied but marked by dusty tannins and a certain lack of generosity.

Small quantity made. 89% Zinfandel, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a field blend from the property. The eventual aim is to include Cinsault and other Rhône varieties. Aged in oak uprights for a good year. Well-integrated ripe nose. Fresh and zingy with real structure and sufficient tannins for the future. Rather French build. Dry finish. Really appetising. (JR)
99% Zinfandel, 1% Merlot. Medium, verging on pale, ruby in colour. Blood-orange and red-cherry nose. Mouth-coating, powdery, fine tannin and high, fresh acidity. Long finish with a touch of rose. What a beautiful chameleon Zinfandel is. (SCJ)
