Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,321 g. The scent of geosmin, raspberry blossom, catkins and crushed nettles. A rambler's wine – if you love to walk in the early morning, across small streams over old stone bridges, along paths overgrown with nettles and the untrammelled tangle of wild rose and crab apples and hawthorn, you'll know what I mean. Sweet berries staining fingertips and lips, wet clay clag underfoot oozing its earth breath into the cool mist. Tannins like the curl and curve of a violin, gleaming. Dusty finish. (TC)

The 2023 Moulin-à-Vent Au Michelon has a similar airy bouquet as the Deschanes. It's well defined if just missing the same chutzpah as the previous vintage. The palate is fresh with crunchy red fruit tones, fine sapidity and just a light bitterness on the finish. This is one of the more accessible Moulin-à-Vents that will give pleasure in the immediate future.
