Cask sample. The wine shows greater mass and weight than the Suchots, but there is an added minerality and saline full stop. The most mineral and freshest-finishing of the wines so far. (MH)

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru was showing a little reduction when I tasted it from barrel, so the nose was difficult to read. The palate is stunning though: fine tannins, intense red fruit, thrilling tension with a gradual build to a poised finish. Outstanding, but it will need time.
