Tasting notes
In every sense a Bordeaux lookalike, beginning with 13.5% v the normal Tuscan 14.5%, and down to the oak note. Practically opaque crimson. Dusty, closed and serious. Marked oak treatment but not brutal. Fruit very slow to emerge from the glass. More exuberant on the palate with dense cherry and cassis fruit. Good pinch of acidity. Fine, grainy tannin. Ably made and alluring, and balanced. A little bit of Bordeaux and lots of Tuscany. Consultant enonologist Carlo Ferrini’s signature velvet-glove treatment. (WS)

The 2009 Tenuta degli Dei boasts gorgeous depth and purity. Sweet red cherries, licorice, mint and flowers are woven together beautifully in this centered, impeccably poised wine. Sweet floral notes reappear on the attractive, polished finish. The flagship Tenuta degli Dei is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot.
