Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,340 g. Cork a little crumbly. Pale shaded rust colour. Nose more vegy than fruity. Serious wine in which the fruit is now matching the acidity. A hint of cinnamon and just starting to open out in the glass. Encouragingly long. (JR)

Verging on dark-ruby-colored, it reveals rich blackberry, blueberry, earth, fresh herb, and stone aromas that are followed by a thick, dense, velvety-textured, chewy, and juicy personality. This concentrated, plump, firm (yet generous), deep, delineated, and full-bodied wine is surprisingly refined for a wine this structured and fat. Intense layers of black cherries, blackberries, minerals and superbly ripe tannins saturate the palate and finish. From a quality/price ratio, experience has taught me to search out this wine in every vintage as it is always first-rate. Projected maturity: 2002-2010. Importer: Neal Rosenthal, Select Vineyards, Shekomeko, NY; tel. (800) 910-1990.
