Score 88/100 · Drink 2017-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

The 2013 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from a parcel located on the Chassagne side (just by the tree as you drive toward the village). The vines are relatively young having been planted in 1997. It has a crisp and fresh wet limestone nose that demands coaxing from the glass. The palate is balanced with a taut fresh entry–light Granny Smith apple and Cornice pear notes–but like the Corton-Charlemagne, just missing the complexity and persistence on the finish, probably due to the youth of the vines more than anything else.
