Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jun 2020

Saturated dark ruby-red. Very ripe, deep aromas of redcurrant, mocha, licorice, tobacco and clove. Fully ripe, large-scaled and deep, conveying terrific breadth to its flavors of plum, mocha and sexy dried spices. This chewy, tactile, classically dry wine finishes with broad, ripe, mouth-saturating tannins and lovely length. By far the richest, ripest and most youthful of these wines to this point, this beauty showcases the site's big, lush tannins. The pH here was 3.96, the highest of any of these vintages, and the wine received a couple extra months of barrel aging.

Full ruby-red. Aromas of currant, plum, chocolate, black cherry, mint, mocha, licorice and herbs. Lush, rich and sweet, with a mouth-caressing texture but also noteworthy energy. Quite full and suave. The dusty, fine tannins arrive late, allowing the currant and lightly herbal flavors to open nicely on the back. Rather sophisticated cabernet, with plenty of structure for aging.
